Clinton School Students Teach Ethnic Cooking

Clinton School Students Rina and Wambui (front left) taught Our House residents how to cook dishes from their native countries of Indonesia and Kenya. The Clinton School and Our House have a very special partnership that has resulted in students serving meals at Our House, teaching and tutoring our residents, and serving as long-term interns.

250 Volunteers Build Playground in One Day

A year ago today, 250 volunteers gathered together at Our House to build an AMAZING playground on our site! Here, Cade Collister, Ben Goodwin and Dominik Mjartan pose in front of the newly built playground after a hard day's work in 100 degree heat! Thanks to everyone who helped out...and to KaBOOM! and PepsiCo for making it possible. 350 kids have enjoyed it over the last year!

Dinner at Our House

Every night of the year for the last 20 years, church groups, civic clubs, companies and cadres of friends have come to the Our House shelter to make and serve a meal to the residents of Our House. Children line up first, then women and men. Everyone eats together, sitting around large round tables. The serving groups sometimes stay and join the residents for the meal. Afterwards, the residents clean up and do chores before retiring to the dorms for the night. We are immensely thankful to the thousands of volunteers who have served meals at Our House over the last two decades.
