Thankful

THANKSGIVING 2007
It's Thanksgiving, and at Our House, we are THANKFUL to the hundreds of community groups, congregations, and civic clubs who support our efforts to help the homeless. It is an AWESOME and inspiring thing to see how people in the community come together to freely give of themselves to help those in need. Recently, the Arkansas Young Professionals Network adopted the Children's Playroom at Our House. These young professionals threw a big party where the "cover charge" was a donation to Our House. Party-goers also brought donated items like the art supplies in this photo for the children of Our House. With a portion of the money raised, the socially responsible young people renovated a room in the Family House and turned it into a brightly colored Kid's Playroom (photos to come). The remaining funds were donated to Our House and were used to pay for after-school programs for the older children. Today, there are 30 children living at Our House. On Thanksgiving, we take a moment to reflect and give thanks that these kids can experience a happy and secure childhood thanks to the many people in our community who give of their time and money.
